World Press Photo is run as an independent, non-profit organization with its office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where World Press Photo was founded in 1955. World Press Photo is committed to supporting and advancing high standards in photojournalism and documentary photography worldwide. Every year it organizes a competition where an international jury formed by 19 people chooses the winning photographs of all the photojournalists, news agencies and newspaper that participate around the world.

One more year, the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) shows the international exposition World Press Photo, one of the most expected. The exhibition shows 130 pictures that have won the prestigious international award, that are divided in different categories: Breaking news, Current issues, Contemporary issues, Everyday life, Portraits, Pictures of the surroundings, Nature, Action sports and Chronic Sport. In this edition, 5.753 photographers have participated and 254 of them were Spanish.

For every person who is visiting Barcelona until the 8th december, this is a must. The World Press Photo is the perfect exhibition for every person who wants to discover the world reality through the point of view of different photojournalists. An opportunity to enjoy with pictures and videos that will make visitors get excited and have an unique experience. The World Press Photo exhibition lets you know in a different way what is happening around the world through pictures that are only showed there.

The price of the general entrance is 6 euros. Retired people, large families and people younger than 25 years old only have to pay 4 euros. You can also visit the exhibition without paying on Sundays and if you are under 12 years old or unemployed.
